The weekend does not need to revolve around nights out. Here are five weekend activities you can enjoy that will really help you make the most of your free time.
1: Take a hike
One thing I want to do more of is venturing off on hiking or walking trails. Fresh air, exercise, views plus time alone or with family and friends. A nice way to see what trails are in your local area is to visit www.irishtrails.ie and choose the specifications you would like.
2: Wall Climbing
I’ve done this a few times and always had a ball. It’s FAR tougher than it looks but great fun to do as a group. A simple google search will show you of companies in your area that offer the service! Check it out.
3: Beach Walks
One of my favourite things to do is to go to the beach. You don’t have to wait for the summer weather either. Wrap up, pack a healthy lunch and a few towels and snacks and head off for a little escape time. The beach, the sound, the smells, the air can be so therapeutic. But don’t take my word for it. Go see for yourself.
4: Surfing
Another great thing to do at the weekend is to take some surfing lessons. We live on an island – literally surrounded by water – and we don’t often think of it for weekend activities. Look up the nearest surf schools to you and give it a go.
5: Road-trip on the Wild Atlantic Way
