Foods To Avoid The Afternoon Slump….


Do you find the afternoons sluggish and slow? Do you want to put a little pep in your step? Then these FOODS could be just the help you are looking for.

ENERGY BOOSTING FOODS

Coconut:

These little beauties are packed with oils that can be quickly turned into energy and help make sure you don’t feel sluggish throughout the day. Chop one up and scoop some out for a mid-afternoon snack on the go or at your desk or opt for a carton of coconut water. Perfect little boost.

 

Eggs:

Packed with protein and iron for sustainable energy as well as B Vitamins that help brain function. Boiled, poached, scrambled or even fried in coconut oil add an egg to your lunchbox (just don’t open it when anyone else is around!)

 

Kale:

Jam-packed full of vitamins and minerals this ‘super-food’ is also a great source of calcium. Look out for Kale chips too in your local health food store or make your own for a handy little snack on the go.

 

Ginger Tea:

Ditch the caffeine boost for a healthier alternative, ginger tea is full of antioxidants that will give you the afternoon boost you need. Add a slice of lemon to pack in some vitamin C.

 

Banana and Almond Butter:

Slice some bananas and dip in almond butter – a great way to balance blood sugar levels. Banana’s are also full of potassium and B vitamins which help digestion making sure you won’t feel sluggish.

 

And after you’ve stocked up on all those little treats hit the gym! Exercise is the BEST mood booster in the world. It’s almost impossible to come out of a workout feeling blue.
